This is what I will write: some thoughts, some stories, some of myself. The way I see the way of life. It is just me, my views, my opinions, my way of saying, my way of writing. My spirit, my fire, my love and the freedom of being myself.

The Amsterdam Vocals in "Korenslag"

Sing!

Actually I rarely endorse anything like that on my blog, but this time is different.
My beloved Driek is in fact singing with his choir, The Amsterdam Vocals in the "Korenslag" program.

The curriculum of Driek singing goes back to his childhood when he sang Mozart in a church choir and also when the primary school teacher were sending a note to his parents, saying that he disturbs the classroom with his constant humming and soft singing.
Personally I don't think there were ever any time when he wasn't singing. Sometimes I long for just silence....

Well I cheer for them on Saturday 13 of November 2010 on Ned 2 at 19.55.  Just after the day of his Birthday.  Do not miss it.

You can watch the show on the Korenslag website.

Fascinated as I am  by the life of Saints and what they did while they were alive, normal being on this earth, I found out that Saint Cecilia is the  saint patron of musicians. It is said that she sung to God when they were killing her  ( ca. 230 AD ). Talking af the Glory of singing. It helps transcend this mortal body with his aches and pains, if you know how to ......transcend it, whether you sing or listen to good music.
So my prayer flies to her to look after everyone who will perform on that night. May they all sing from their heart.

This poem is for my darling husband:

Sing Sing my darling,
like the angel I know you are.
Sing in the dance of this moment,
celebrating the joy of a warm voice
reaching deep into my heart
soothing  the edgy corner of a demanding life
lifting my soul to heights
were all else disappear.

Only the melody
 carrying me away
in the exquisite place where sounds and spirit meet
And what remians
is just  His Harmony.

From a dear one to everyone

Monday, January 28, 2008

A dear friend of mine too faraway in all the possible meaning asked me to post on my blog his song of freedom. He writes from a place that I wish no one to go to. A place where the sun is never shining and contact with the "outside world" is absolutely prohibited.
We can fortunately connect through strict scrutinized email.

I dedicate this picture to him. May his heart never forget the sweet melody of freedom.
A moment in my walk where I was intensely feeling how lucky I was to see this beauty.
And a deep thought went to him!

I thought today, that what is happening right now in my life is a good lesson how we often give in to the temptation of the "fear of loss/not having enough" instead of following the call of our heart that is designed to serve love only. The little line of words can serve as a reminder and I wish that it will liquefy and fuse with the wind travelling around our precious Mother Earth.

"Nothing shines brighter than the heart
remembering the unseen light of love
that lives within it."

May we all find peace today, T. (Jan 2008)

I can't resist to dedicate T. another song from my beloved musician Johnny Cash. He always knew how to cheer up the less fortunate that can't see the sunshine.

Folsom prison by Johnny Cash

I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend,
And I ain't seen the sunshine,
Since, I don't know when,
I'm stuck in Folsom Prison,
And time keeps draggin' on,
But that train keeps a-rollin',
On down to San Antone.

When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don't ever play with guns,"
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die,
When I hear that whistle blowin',
I hang my head and cry.

I bet there's rich folks eatin',
In a fancy dining car,
They're probably drinkin' coffee,
And smokin' big cigars,
But I know I had it comin',
I know I can't be free,
But those people keep a-movin',
And that's what tortures me.

Well, if they freed me from this prison,
If that railroad train was mine,
I bet I'd move out over a little,
Farther down the line,
Far from Folsom Prison,
That's where I want to stay,
And I'd let that lonesome whistle,
Blow my Blues away.

A wonderful day

Thursday, November 29, 2007

This is not exactly the translation of the previous post on my wedding day but more adding few sweet details.

I already wrote how unforgettable this day was and how the feeling of joy, love and tears was permeating each moment, every cell of my being. Hard to find words.
The pictures maybe can better describe it.

The car that drove us to the restaurant was from Giuliano, brother of Lorena and my childhood sweetheart. A very special Fiat 130 that has been used to take around Miss Italia.
Well, well you may say....yes indeed on that day I felt more then Miss Italia, Miss Universe.

Walking along the beautiful lake Lago Smeraldo taking in the beauty outside and acknowledging the inner beauty of my beloved husband and in myself.

This lake is named after the deep green shade of an emerald. Guess why? The ever green pine trees reflecting in his clear water makes it shining like an emerald, ever so precious.
On the same water as a child I skated in winter and swam in summer.
The pearl of my village.
I am so grateful I could celebrate my wedding day and my first night as a married woman on such an evocative place that I always loved so much and holds unforgettable memories.

I didn't throw in the air my "bouquet" as it is used in my country. All of the guests are married already. But this was not the main reason.
I had a childhood girlfriend who was very concerned about me finding the right man that could take me with all my intense energy without shrinking back and fleeing.
I can still remember one of our last talks about man. I collected many emails in a nice booklet, in those we shared deep emotions and thoughts about God, love, death, the meaning of life and her fear to leave her child behind without his mother.
In honour of her beautiful presence on earth for "only" 40 years I offered the white and pink wedding flowers to my friend, sweet Ada. The day after my wedding me and Driek visited the village cemetery and laid down the bouquet in the place where she rests in peace.

Me and Driek love Johnny Cash and I had a wish to be able to sing "Jackson" as it is sung by Johny Cash and June Carter. Although this is not a song from J.C. yet it holds a great meaning in his life.
He interrupted one of his concert when he was singing this song and asked his sweetheart June to marry him. She said yes and they continue together to sing "Jackson." This is not exactly a song of a perfect marriage. On the contrary is a song of quarrels between husband and wife.
That is why it made it even more special to sing it to our guests. And while Driek has a voice like an angel I sing along modestly. Yet together we were a powerful mixture of love and passion. The photo depicts us at the end of the version of "Jackson", by Driek and Milena.

It says it all. Click below.

"We will marry in a fever hotter then a pepper sprout"

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Yes, me and my darling Driek will marry in the coming September in the pure ecstasy of the mountain of my place of birth.

I love you Driek,
my friend,
my lover,
sweet angel by my side.
And much more then I can tell.

Il tuo sorriso.
Il tuo sorriso dona
leggerezza al mio sguardo
il cuore s'infonde
di pace
e gli orizzonti vanno
al di là delle montagne.
Your smile
gives lightness
to my eyes
the heart is infused
with peace
and the horizons expand beyond
the mountains top.

All the photos in my blog are from Driek. A part from the "Osho" series or the one I take of him.

"Like a soldier" by Johnny Cash

Tuesday, December 05, 2006

The "this and that" of my blog.

Today is dedicated to Johnny Cash and in particular to one of his songs:

Like a soldier
With the twilight colors falling
And the evening laying shadows
Hidden memories come stealing from my mind
As I feel my own heart beating out
The simple joy of living
And I wonder how I ever was that kind

But the wild road I was rambling
Was always out there calling
And you said a hundred times I should have died
Than you reach down and touch me and lifted me up with you
So, I believe it was the roads that I was meant to ride

I am Like a soldier getting over the war
I am Like a young man getting over his crazy days
Like a bandit getting over his lawless ways
I don’t have to do that anymore
I'm like a soldier getting over the war

There are nights I don't remember
And there's pain that has been forgotten
And a lot things I choose not to recall
There are faces that come to me
In my darkest secret memory
Faces that I wish would not come back at all

But in my dreams parade of lovers
From the other times and places
There's not one that matters now, no matter who
I'm just thankful for the journey
And that I've survived the battles
And that my spoils of victory is you

I am like a soldier getting over the war
I am like a young man getting over his crazy days
Like a bandit getting over his lawless ways
Every day gets better than the day before
I'm like a soldier getting over the war

I want to dedicate this song to all the survivors of every war, the one with guns and weapons, and the one against the inner demon. Maybe more insidious, more cruel, depriving of the most incredible gift: the joy of living, the freedom to be fully oneself.
It is a song of freedom, a song of redemption, a song of love, a song of gratitude.
The country singer and songwriter June Carter was the beloved wife of Johnny Cash. She was the one who "reach down" in his drug dependency, touch his soul and lifted him up.
The song speak by itself and foremost speak immensely to me who I feel in many ways like a soldier of the many battles that life put me through.
I am also saying:
"I am just thankful for the journey
And that I've survived the battles
...and every day gets better than the day before"

Of course his voice was unique and unforgettable. Cash sang breathtaking songs of heartache and survival with a voice that was deep and full of real life. He evolved from a self-destructive drug addiction to the iconic Man in Black facing the devil inside, and learning how to walk the razor-edge between destruction and redemption.
His personal transformation is to me very well expressed in this song and if you want to enjoy more of his music and know his story the movie " Walk the line" is depicting very well the fall and the rise of the pop star life.
For once an happy ending.
